Location: Jever Schortens Airfield, Germany
Period: 11–22 November 2024
Capacity: 500 soldiers
Equipment: Provision of sanitary facilities
Services: Field camp and facility management
From 11 to 22 November 2024, the capabilities of the individual squadrons were practised and finally evaluated. To this end, logistical processes
were practised using the Supply Edge, based on the Blue Core exercise series at the LogÜbZ. This was done to further establish the supply chain between the Armed Forces Base (SKB) and the Air Force, and to improve the unit's operational readiness in future. Additionally, the necessary fire protection skills to ensure flight operations on a DOB
operations and the skills required for pioneering to upgrade the flight operation areas were practised. MEPS GmbH supported the implementation of the exercise by providing sanitary facilities for up to 500 soldiers in the field camp and facility management sector.
The collaboration with MEPS GmbH was, without exception, beneficial, and this was due to the following factors:
The contract was processed extremely smoothly. Telephone agreements were consistently adhered to and could be implemented without delay. Representatives and contact persons were on site immediately, enabling immediate coordination and agreement. The swift installation and commissioning of the various systems was carried out in accordance with the agreed timeframe. Dismantling and removal also went smoothly. Increased water consumption during the exercise was easily supplied and compensated for.
In accordance with the tender, all construction, operation and dismantling requirements were fully met. This included providing sanitary containers, ensuring a power supply to the various areas, and providing fresh water.
All inspections required by MEPS, such as the DGUV inspection, were carried out in accordance with the contract and offer, and the results were presented during the inspection and handover.
The sanitary containers met the required quality standards. The high standard was maintained through daily cleaning and replenishment of consumables.
In the event of equipment or system breakdowns, servicing was provided within the timeframe specified in the quotation (30 minutes). Thanks to the constant presence of service personnel on site, this timeframe was reduced to just 5–10 minutes for troubleshooting. It is important to emphasise that this requirement must be requested by the client, which we were fortunate enough to have.
All our requirements were met, and in some cases exceeded. The professional and committed approach of MEPS contributed significantly to the success of our project. We can recommend the company wholeheartedly and look forward to working with them again.
