At TOI TOI & DIXI, we develop mobile infrastructure and service solutions that create efficient and hygienic spaces wherever they are needed. Our mobile hygiene solutions bring comfort to any desired location and enable flexible, reliable, and clean provision. In doing so, we act in a resource-efficient and environmentally conscious manner, as sustainability is a firmly embedded part of our daily operations. We continuously strive to improve our services and products, reduce environmental impacts, and provide our employees with a safe and appreciative working environment.

Our sustainability strategy is built on three strategic pillars: Products and Services, Environment, and Employees. Each of these pillars encompasses specific action areas in which we implement targeted projects and initiatives. Using objectively measurable performance indicators, we set clear goals and report regularly on our progress in our sustainability report.

PRODUCTS & SERVICES

With our products and services, we strive to optimize our existing services and drive innovation. Our products meet the highest hygiene standards and are distinguished by their particularly long service life. The toilet cabins are manufactured in Germany, Italy, and the United States. Starting from the development phase onward, we place great emphasis on using robust materials and durable construction.

To further enhance sustainability, we are increasingly incorporating recycled materials and employing resource-efficient production methods. The modular design of our toilet cabins allows individual components to be easily replaced when needed. Thanks to our repairable products, the lifespan can be significantly extended. Retrofitting is another possibility, enabling older models to be upgraded with new innovations to keep them up to date. For example, older cabins are gradually being equipped with washbasins, helping us to raise hygiene standards while conserving valuable resources.

Longevity as a sustainability factor:

A TOI TOI & DIXI portable toilet can easily have a service life of more than 20 years.

Turning old into new:

To transition our portable toilets to materials circularity, we collect production scraps and defectively manufactured components. This material is then converted into feedstock for use in the manufacture of new portable toilets at our own production facilities.

Increasing the number of portable toilets with wash basins.

In countries where plumbed-in handwashing facilities are not required (Spain and the USA), 50.1% of all TOI TOI & DIXI portable toilets are already equipped with wash basins.

Environment

Environmental protection is a core concern for us. We implement targeted measures to reduce emissions and prevent pollution. One example is the gradual conversion of our service vehicles to electric drives. Across our entire value chain, we continuously identify opportunities for improvement and implement them systematically. Responsible use of natural resources is another of our priorities. Our water-saving products already make a noticeable contribution to conserving resources. Through ongoing research and the implementation of new solutions, we are continuously working to further reduce our environmental footprint and enhance the efficient use of energy, water, and chemicals.

Service Vehicles with Electric Drive:

By gradually converting our vehicle fleet to alternative drives—particularly electric—we are effectively reducing our greenhouse gas intensity.

Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Comparison

In the 2024 financial year, our business activities resulted in a total of 153.256 tonnes of CO₂e emissions. Through measures such as reducing stop distances, deploying electric vehicles, and promoting efficient driving practices, we are focusing to lower our direct (Scope 1) emissions.

Water-Saving Toilet Cabins

It takes between 10 and 15 liters of water to fill the septic tank in one of our portable toilets. At a utilization of 10 visits per day, that works out at less than 220 milliliters per visit – roughly the equivalent of a glass of water.

Employees

We know for a fact that our success as a company depends on our employees. To ensure our positive development continues in the long term, we take responsibility for their well-being, health, and professional development. We foster a working environment where everyone feels comfortable and individual growth is possible. A consistent Health & Safety management, targeted internal training programs, and an open, appreciative corporate culture are key elements that help us sustainably strengthen employee satisfaction and health.

As a globally operating corporate group, we are fully aware of our responsibility toward our international workforce. Core objectives of our sustainability strategy include the ongoing reduction of accident rates, the expansion of needs-based training and development opportunities, and ensuring the satisfaction of our colleagues.
